Saturday night in Springfield, Massachusetts the Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2020 was inducted into the Hall, more than a year after they induction was originally announced. 

The highlight of the evening was Kobe Bryant being posthumously inducted with a legendary class that included Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett. 

Vanessa Bryant, Kobe’s wife, delivered the acceptance speech for her late husband.

Here’s some highlights:

“I can see him now, arms folded with a huge grin saying, ‘Isn’t this some s—.”

-Talking about how she rarely praised Kobe in public and how he would be laughing at her doing it here.

”Kobe was on a different level. He never took shortcuts when it came to basketball. He gave this game his all.”

“If he could help it, he’d play every minute of every game. He loved you all so much.”

-Talking about Kobe playing through injuries, because he never wanted to disappoint his fans.

“He did the work. He broke those records. He inspired people to be great. I want to thank him for somehow finding ways to dedicate time to not only being an incredible athlete, a visionary entrepreneur, and storyteller but for also being an amazing family man.”

-Vanessa thanking Kobe for his dedication and all he gave. 

“You once told me, if you’re going to bet on someone, bet on yourself. I’m glad you bet on yourself, you overachiever. You did it. You’re in the hall of fame now … you’re an all-time great.”
