Sex, Lies, And Videotape. Well, Maybe No Sex, But It’s All Out War In Final Days Of Campaign With Debate Up Next!

With less than two weeks to go before the presidential election, it’s all-out war in the political, media and pop culture world as stakes could not be higher with the outcome of the vote on Nov. 3. If President Trump is involved, you can be sure things are going to be personal, highly charged, and most likely entertaining. Case in point: the verbal battle going on between Leslie Stahl of CBS’ “60 Minutes” and Team Trump. All fighting for attention, votes or both.

Trump did what he promised to do Thursday, releasing on Facebook an “unedited preview” video from the “60 Minutes” interview he did with Stahl, which is scheduled to air on Sunday. The video shows Trump getting increasingly annoyed as Stahl presses him on a number of topics, including the coronavirus, wearing masks at rallies and the as-yet-unseen Republican Obamacare replacement plan.

“Look at the bias, hatred and rudeness on behalf of 60 Minutes and CBS,” Trump wrote Thursday as he tweeted out the Facebook link. The video appears to show that, contrary to many media reports, Trump did not walk out of the interview as he was accused of doing.

CBS plans on airing the interview Sunday night, along with Stahl’s interview with Vice President Mike Pence, in which Stahl says to Pence, “I feel that you both have insulted ‘60 Minutes’ and me by not answering any of our questions and by giving set campaign speeches that we’ve heard both of you give at rallies ….”

CBS has received a huge amount of publicity promoting the interview, and it appears they know it, saying this in a press release sent out Thursday: “The White House’s unprecedented decision to disregard their agreement with CBS News and release their footage will not deter ‘60 Minutes’ from providing its full, fair and contextual reporting which presidents have participated in for decades.”

Oh, and don’t expect things to get warm and fuzzy Thursday night, because President Trump isn’t exactly a fan of the moderator of the final presidential debate.
