We’ve all heard the phrase “money can’t buy you happiness.”

It must have been one miserable person that came up with it, because if you have the resources of a billionaire, you can buy or create anything you damn well please that will make you happy.

In the case of the uber rich founder of the e-commerce site Zozotown, that includes a one-of-a-kind custom luxury automobile produced in collaboration by Rolls-Royce and Hermes.

The only way I can describe it is like this; it’s the closest thing to true mobile happiness I’ve seen in a long time, if ever.  Check for yourself…

Hermes and Rolls-Royce collaborate often, but usually it’s when a Birkin bag is placed on the floorboard or back seat as a couple is driving to dinner.

In the case of Usuako Maezawa, the two luxury brands put together some of their most creative minds to trick out a custom bespoke Rolls Royce Phantom with the intent of keeping one of both brands top clients happy.

Here’s how deep they drilled down to make sure Maezawa drove away with a big smile on his face.  The cars’s exterior color is inspired by the glazes of antique Japanese Oribe ceramics.  Why you might be wondering? Because Maezawa is a big-time collector of that type of art.

It makes you wonder if Maezawa had instead been a big NBA trading card collector, would the trunk be in the design and shape of a 2003 LeBron James rookie card?  If he wanted it, I’m sure they would have done it.

The interior is decked out in plush Hermes leather to resemble the cabin of a private jet.

Considering an Hermes handbag will cost in the range of $20,000 – $75,000, you can use your imagination to see how much happiness can be derived in the backseat of one of the most luxurious automobiles in the world that just happens to be dripping in Hermes leather upholstery, with saddlery-inspired stitching holding the cloth together.

Let’s move to the armrests on the doors. They stand out, courtesy of the Hermes “Toile H” canvas.  French illustrator Pierre Peron is known for his work creating many of the iconic Hermes sold scarves that are so popular around the world. Pierre also had a side hustle working on this car, as he hand-painted a custom-created design on the walnut panels.

Here’s how you know you have attained ultimate baller status. The Oribe Green paint that was customer created for the exterior of the car is also being used for Maezawa’s matching private jet.

Everything about this automobile drips in opulence, refinement and luxurious grandeur. Even the custom created quote about the collaboration from Torsten Muller-Otvos, the CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

“This magnificent expression of our pinnacle product represents a landmark for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, bringing together two houses with more than three centuries’ combined experience and heritage. It has been an extraordinary privilege to unite on such a creatively challenging, technically demanding commission and bring our client’s remarkable vision so beautifully to life.”
