NYC-Ya Later!

Leaving the Big Apple in the rearview mirror appears to be a new trend for many people looking to leave New York City as their place of residence. Donald Trump recently made the move south to Florida for his permanent residence, and it looks like his daughter Ivanka and her hubby Jared Kushner are following the president’s migration south.

Ivanka and Jared have reportedly committed to the purchase of a $31 million plot of land in the area known as Miami’s “Billionaire’s Bunker.” The extremely exclusive neighborhood on Indian Creek Island offers waterfront homes and a ton of built-in privacy.

The island, just off the coast of Miami, has a number of high-profile residents, including Carl Icahn, Adriana Lima and Julio Iglesias. The 1.84-acre lot with 200 feet of shoreline purchased by Ivanka and Jared was actually previously owned by Iglesias.

The island is about 60 miles south of Mar-a-Lago and features its own 13-member police department to protect its 34 homes and about 40 residents. Indian Creek is only accessible by a single bridge, which is guarded by a gatehouse. All homes on the island are built along the perimeter to ensure everyone has a waterfront view. The interior of the island features the Indian Creek Country Club and an 18-hole golf course. Taxes for the lot purchased by the Kushners reportedly run close to $430,000 per year.

The Kushners have not released any plans for the house they intend to build on the property, but it’s safe to say the house will be “yuge.”
