Joey Chestnut probably spends a good part of his Fourth of July in the bathroom, but that’s the price you pay when you’re the greatest competitive hot dog inhaler the world has ever seen.

Once again, in front of a raucous crowd of 5,000 fans at Maimonides Park, a Minor League baseball stadium outside of Coney Island, and in front of millions of people worldwide with nothing better to do watching on ESPN, Chestnut stole the show, cramming 76 soggy buns and liquidized hot dogs down his pie hole to win Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.

The 76 wieners is an all-time record, and it further cements Chestnut’s status as the greatest competitive grubber the world has ever produced. Here’s what he told ESPN after wiping the hot dog bun juice off his face.

“It just felt good. Even if I was uncomfortable, having everybody cheer me and push me, it made me feel good.”

It’s the 14th time Chestnut has won the title, which means’ he’s almost consumed 1,000 hot doges in this competition alone.

The event was held in front of fans again this year, and it brought the best out of Chestnut, who ate roughly 15 pounds of hot dogs and consumed almost 20,000 calories during his epic jaunt to victory.
