Businesses and restaurants in the U.S. that are tied to Russia in any way are going through some difficult times. Axios reported how many faced vandalism and hate in the ten days since Russia invaded Ukraine.  Russia House Restaurant in Washington, D.C., was vandalized twice since the invasion began and is bombarded daily with hate calls.

The owner told Axios his business is American and just trying to survive.

The Pushkin Russian Restaurant in San Diego has been crushed with 1-star reviews online and accusing the restaurant of supporting the invasion of Ukraine.

Some people calling the joint have threatened to blow it up. The sad part for owner Ike Gazaryan is that half of his employees are Ukrainian.  Here’s what he told ABC 7 television.

“It bothers me mostly because it’s the other way around. I’ve donated money to the Ukrainian cause. I’ve given money to my employees to send to their parents in Ukraine.”

A business in New York called Seta is trying to get rid of their online presence, and any mention that they have Russian food on the menu.

A restaurant in Austin called “The Russian House” changed its name to “The House” since the invasion.

Their owner Varda Monamour told this to KXAN Television.

“I’m doing this for people of Russia because there are so many people who don’t want this war. I’m doing this for people of Austin because they need to know our position and understand what we really are.”
