Prior to his divorce, Bill and Melinda Gates paid $43 million for a killer pad in San Diego. Bill got the house in the divorce, and he’s having it customized and showing up regularly in California to peek in on the construction.
According to the NY Post, he arrives with his two bulletproof Suburbans and plenty of security guards.
If you’re wondering if the neighbors are excited about the commotion caused by one of the world’s richest men, they are not.
One told the Post, “it’s been a nuisance.”
Another chimed in with, “they make a lot of noise; my baby can’t sleep.”
The house that was on the lot was reportedly in excellent condition, but Gates had it torn down so he could start anew with a bachelor pad designed to his liking. The home is set to be the 66-year old’s summer hangout. Word is Gates wants it done by August – but aerial shots of the property show that might be a tad bit optimistic.
Gates is be-bopping between his cribs in Seattle and Palm Springs and apparently anxious to get his beach house down for some summer fun.
