“Don’t Insult Our Intelligence!” John Ratcliffe Says Russia Not Involved In Hunter Biden Smear Campaign

Russian interference. That was the initial wave of defense used by Democrats to deflect the bombshell story about Hunter Biden’s laptop and the information stored on it. Now it looks like that excuse will no longer fly.

California Democrat Adam Schiiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said that the information about Biden’s laptop was part of a Kremlin “smear” campaign. Today, National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe said Schiff doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

In an interview with Fox Business, Ratcliffe stated, “It’s funny that some of the people that complained the most about intelligence being politicized are the ones politicizing intelligence and, unfortunately in this case, it is Adam Schiff, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, who as you pointed out on Friday, said that the intelligence community believes that Hunter Biden’s laptop and e-mails on it are part of some Russian disinformation campaign,” Ratcliffe said.

“Let me be clear,” he continued, “The intelligence community doesn’t believe that, because there is no intelligence that supports that and we shared no intelligence with chairman Schiff or any other member of Congress that Hunter Biden’s laptop is part of some Russian disinformation campaign,” he continued. “It’s simply not true.”

Ratcliffe later added, “Don’t drag the intelligence community into this. Hunter Biden’s laptop is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign and I think it’s clear the American people know that.”

Donald Trump Jr. immediately jumped on the information, tweeting, “It’s almost like Adam Schiff, the Dems & the media are all repeating false propaganda about “Russian disinfo” w/ ZERO EVIDENCE, to hide Joe Biden’s corruption from the American people.”

The latest reports from the laptop have pointed to payouts for former Vice President Joe Biden as part of a deal with a Chinese energy firm.

Biden has announced he will be preparing for Thursday’s presidential debate and not campaigning publicly, so chances are he’ll avoid direct questions on this for a few days.
