Now that Twitter will officially be a private company owned by Elon Musk, he’s being courted by leaders of blue states to move the social media company out of San Francisco.

One of the politicians courting Musk is Lenny Curry, the Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida. Here’s what he told WFOX TV about his city being a candidate for the new HQ.

“I think it would be a great landing spot. FIN-tech is huge in Jacksonville. We’re really on the map of a lot of companies representing a lot of employees. A lot of access to talent in the area. So again, come on Elon.”

If not Jacksonville, maybe some other part of Florida. Jimmy Patronis is the CFO of Florida and is always on the lookout for great opportunities for his state. Here’s what he tweeted when Musk’s bid to buy Twitter was accepted.

“Hey @elonmusk, this is what Team @Twitter could see ever evening if your HQ was in the Free State of Florida. #FloridaIsFor Winners.”

There is precedent for Musk making a major move out of California.  Last year, he did it with his company, taking Tesla from San Francisco to Austin, Texas.  And he did it himself, selling all his properties in California and moving to the state capital of Texas.

So, of course, Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas, is making a sales pitch.

@elonmusk. Bring Twitter to Texas to join Tesla, SpaceX & the Boring company.”

Tennessee, how about you? Of course, Senator Marsha Blackburn is getting in on it.

“Elon should move Twitter HQ to the freedom-loving state of Tennessee!”
