Most likely, you are well aware of the highest-paid CEO in the world, but chances are you will fail miserably when trying to name the next five.

At the top, standing alone with nobody in sight, is Elon Musk. According to a Motley Fool report, Musk earned $54,000 every minute of every 40-hour work week in 2020.  Add that all up, and it comes to $6.65 billion for the Tesla CEO.

Okay, that’s the easy part. Now get ready to be surprised.

The second-highest-paid CEO is a name you’ve probably never heard of who runs a company you don’t know. His name is Mike Pykosz, his company is Oak Stree Health, and his pay stubs added up to $568 million.

The third-highest paid CEO is another very, very, rich unknown leader: Trevor Bezdek, CEO of GoodRx Holdings, who brought home just south of $500 million.

Douglas Hirsch also works at GoodRx Holdings, and let’s just say it was a good year there. He’s the co-CEO, along with Bezdek, and he also made $497 million.

Checking in at $388 million for the fiscal year, the report was conducted in is Eric Wu. He’s the boss at Opendoor Technologies.

You have to go all the way down to number 7 on the list to see another recognizable CEO superstar’s name.  That’s where Tim Cook of Apple resides, along with his $265 million compensation.

At number 8 is another anonymous rich dude—Chad Richison of Paycom Software, who banked $220 million.
