For those in the camp who believe it’s not if, but when Dwayne Johnson will run for President, go ahead and add this phrase to your thinking.  Sooner rather than later.

The Rock doubled down on his comments over the weekend where he expressed an interest in running for Prez if he felt the people wanted him to, and Tuesday on the Today Show, he told Willie Geist that he already has one particular goal in mind when he’s the leader of the free world.

“I do have that goal to unite our country. I also feel that, if this is what the people want, then I will do that.”

Okay. It’s going to be hard to back away from it now, because there’s no doubt a large chunk of American voters would love to see his name on the ballot.

And there’s no denying the county is as divided as ever, with the gap widening by the day.

“I am passionate about making sure that our country is united because a united country, as we know, is the strongest, and I want to see that for our country.”

The Rock appeared on the Today Show to promote his NBC sitcom “Young Rock.” An episode of the program shows a Rock from the future actually running for office.  So he’s even incorporating his long-term plans into his scripts.

There’s just too much smoke for there not to be fire. Consider that back in February, he told USA Today he would leave it up to the people, but would serve if he was asked.

“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted. Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people… So I would wait, and I would listen.”

It’s pretty clear he’s made up his mind to run. The next question he needs to be asked is this. Would you consider doing it as early as 2024?

It would be interesting to see what “The Rock says” about that.
