Judging by the number of headlines generated, chances are you will never guess who the richest celebrity in Hollywood is.
The answer is Stephen Speilberg, the legendary filmmaker whom Forbes says is worth $3.7 billion in their latest Forbes’ World’s Billionaires List.
Spielberg is one of eight Hollywood A-listers who made the list, eight of the 2,668 billionaires worldwide.
Number eight on the list (according to net worth) is Tyler Perry, who has built a fit and television empire in Atlanta and is worth an even $1 billion.
At number seven is Jay-Z, more known as a rapper from New York City than a Hollywood mover and shaker, but if Forbes says he belongs on the list, he gets to be on the list. His net worth is $1.3 billion.
Checking in at number six according to an Insider story is New Zealand native Peter Jackson at $1.5 billion. He’s famous for the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, King Kong, and a video game software company called Unity Software that he sold for $1.6 billion last year.
Rihanna is set to have a baby any day now. The child will be inheriting some serious jack someday, considering their mommy is worth $1.7 billion thanks to her string of hit songs and her cosmetic company.
Number four on the list is Kim Kardashian, worth $1.8 billion, making her the richest person in her family, not a small feat.
Right behind her at number three is her ex-husband Kanye West, worth $2 billion.
Oprah Winfrey lives in Montecito, California, near Santa Barbara, about 90 miles from Hollywood. But because she makes money from media and entertainment and is worth $2.6 billion, she’s number two on the list.
Spielberg heads the list, thanks to his iconic film resume, including E.T., Saving Private Ryan, Shindler’s List, Jaws, and countless others.
He owned a superyacht when it was cool to do it before Russian oligarchs made it seem disgusting, and Spielberg owns a $70 million G6, so he travels in style.
