At some point the numbers and accomplishments don’t even seem real, or realistic, and that point is now.

There are NFL players who work their whole life to try to get the opportunity to play in one Super Bowl. Tom Brady has 5 MVP awards in Super Bowl’s, the latest coming Sunday night, on his home field in Tampa, where he led the Buccaneers to a surprisingly easy 31-9 win over Kansas City.

It’s hard to believe the Bucs were underdogs in this game, as they so thoroughly dominated the Chiefs you wonder if the team from KC will be able to overcome being steamrolled and humiliated in front of the entire world.

Anybody who put money on the Chiefs betting they would win probably feel empty and foolish Monday morning. It’s never a wise practice to bet against Tom Brady, especially when the lights are the brightest and the pressure is the greatest.

So, with this latest SB win, Brady now has more Super Bowl titles personally, than any franchise in NFL history. Brady has 7, his old team the Patriots and Steelers have six each.

Brady become the only player to have 5 MVP awards, Joe Montand had three. “When we got Tom, that makes you a contender,” Tampa receiver Mike Evans said after the game. “He’s like LeBron (James). Whatever team you put him on, they’re going to be a contender. They’re going to be a tough team to beat.”

Did Brady look like this will be the last time he does it? At the age of 43, he will be back with a loaded team next season, with little chance he will slow down physically or with his preparation.

We knew Brady was the GOAT (greatest of all time) years ago, but now he’s put himself in a place in history that will be seemingly impossible for anyone to come close to matching. Patrick Mahomes was supposed to take over the mantle as the greatest player in the NFL last night in Super Bowl LV, but he wasn’t even close to being the best quarterback on the field.

“To come down here to Tampa, come to an organization that was ready to win, come down here with the players — they’re all fantastic players, great guys — just everyone overall, the story is unbelievable and it definitely ranks up there with one of my biggest accomplishments ever,” Brady said.

It was 18 years ago when Brady won his first MVP trophy and picked up his first Super Bowl win. That’s the biggest gap of any team athlete in any sport.

Brady’s stats Sunday night weren’t overwhelmingly impressive, but he was spectacular when he needed to be, and in complete control of the game. He finished 21-of-29 for 201 yards and three touchdowns.  Brady wouldn’t be finding space on his mantle for another MVP trophy without the Tampa Bay defense, which was incredible.

You have to wonder if Bill Belichick was able to watch the game without throwing up. He’s probably trying to work a trade for himself to come to Tampa Bay next season.
