There’s been a lot of buzz about the new pickup truck Tesla was supposed to roll out soon, but that is essentially on the back burner for now because Elon Musk has essentially confirmed that the top project on his board, for now, is the humanoid robot he is anxious to mass-produce.

It’s being called Tesla’s “most important product development” in their recent earnings call.

Musk pointed out on the call that new vehicle lines called Roadster, Semi, and Cybertruck are delayed and potentially could come out in 2023, but it’s full steam ahead for the Tesla Bot.

Here’s what Musk said on the call.

“So, in terms of priority of products, I think actually the most important product development we’re doing this year is actually the Optimus humanoid robot. This, I think, has the potential to be more significant than the vehicle business over time. If you think about the economy, it is — the foundation of the economy is labor. Capital equipment is distilled labor. So, what happens if you don’t actually have a labor shortage? I’m not sure what an economy even means at that point. That’s what Optimus is about. So, very important.”

If you had an eye on a new Tesla, don’t fret, cars are still a priority, and the robots will not be taking precedence – for now.

Some Tesla followers in the tech world think Musk is so savvy, so strategic, and intelligent that he shifts the focus onto exciting projects like a robot to avoid talking about production delays or other pressing issues.
