There appears to be a real-life political love story with Taylor Swift falling hard for the Biden campaign. The country-pop music superstar recently issued a public declaration of her support for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Senator Kamala Harris.

Ahead of the vice-presidential debate, in an article published in V Magazine (a publication that claims to be all about fashion with a capital F), the 30-year old songstress told her fans not to shake off this year’s election.

“The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included,” said Swift.

This is not the first time the singer has sent out messages with political undertones. Back in 2018 she endorsed two Tennessee candidates. But her relationship with the Democratic ticket seems to run much deeper, as evidenced by the Biden baked goods she shared on her Instagram account. Swift showed off her custom cookies in advance of the VP debate and posted, “Gonna be watching and supporting @kamalaharris by yelling at the tv a lot.”

The singer’s hope here is that “Swifties” (the title true Taylor fans bestow upon themselves) will get out and vote for Biden while humming her hit song “Look What You Made Me Do.”
