Spotify Chooses Joe Rogan And His Relevant, Worldwide Audience Over 76-Year Old Folk Singer Neil Young.

In a move that will undoubtedly get Spotify at least temporarily banned from the “Woke Hall of Fame,” the music and podcast streaming giant stood up to aging folk-rocker Neil Young’s threat/request; and took his entire music playlist down.

Earlier in the week, Young had written an open letter (he later took down) demanding that Spotify either remove the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, which is currently the number one podcast in the world or remove his music.

Spotify decided to go with capitalism and gladly took down Young’s music Wednesday, while Rogan was prepping for his next episode that will be consumed by tens of millions of listeners worldwide.

What got the Canadian native all worked up was his interpretation of Rogan’s content on his podcast regarding COVID-10 vaccines.  Despite not having a medical degree, Young was convinced that Rogan was spreading fake information, and in his bold letter, he told Spotify, “they can have Rogan or Young. Not both.”

It didn’t appear to be a tough decision for Spotify since they paid $100 million for the rights to air the JRE exclusively.

Give Young credit for holding his ground, and even though he took down his open letter, his demand still stood up until Spotify decided to boot the 76-year old folk singer.

If Young wanted to invite his friends over for one last listening party, he certainly could, since it will take Spotify several hours to remove Young’s tunes from their services across the world.
