Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill Monday morning requiring students in public high schools across Florida to be taught the evils of socialism on “Victims of Communism Day.”

IT will take place on November 7, beginning with the school year of 2023-2024.  The bill had been passed unanimously in the Florida legislature earlier this year, and the Governor signed it into law at Miami’s Freedom Tower.

Here’s a quote from DeSantis during the press conference at the bill signing.

“We want to make sure that every year folks in Florida, but particularly our students, will learn about the evils of communism, the dictators that have led communist regimes, and the hundreds of millions of individuals who suffered and continue to suffer under the weight of this discredited ideology.”

Topics included in the instruction for the students will consist of “Mao Zedong and the Cultural Revolution, Joseph Stalin and the Soviet System, Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution, Vladimir Lenin and the Russian Revolution, Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, and Nicolás Maduro and the Chavismo movement, and how victims suffered under these regimes through poverty, starvation, migration, systemic lethal violence, and suppression of speech,” according to a Daily Wire report.

Last June, DeSantis signed another bill into law that will require students to learn of the “evils of communism.”

Tens of thousands of South Florida citizens escaped Communist Cuba to come to America.
