Thursday night at the Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, Dave Chappelle performed for a roomful of celebrities, friends, and fans lucky enough to buy a $160 ticket. It was an intimate stand-up performance, and he made some fascinating revelations about the attack he suffered Tuesday night at the Hollywood Bowl.

In the 70-seat theater were Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kim Kardashian, Jeff Ross, and Chris Rock, who took the stage with Chappelle 10-minutes into his set.

Two of the biggest and most successful comedians of all time, on stage together, sharing details about the one thing they had in common; having been attacked by either a deranged fan or movie star in the past two months.

The banter on stage between the two comedic legends was incredible.

Here’s what Chappelle said to Rock when he joined him on the microphone.

“At least you got smacked by someone of repute! I got smacked by a homeless guy with leaves in his hair.”

After laughing, Rock composed himself and fired back.

“I got smacked by the softest n—- that ever rapped.”

Later in the set, Chappelle talked of how he convinced LAPD to allow him to enter the room where his assailant was being held. Chapelle wanted to know why 23-year-old Isiah Lee attacked him.  Chappelle said Lee appeared to be mentally ill and told him a story about his grandmother being forced out of her neighborhood in Brooklyn by gentrification.  Lee told Chapelle he wanted to bring attention to that, so he put a knife on the end of a toy guy and charged the stage Tuesday night.

What’s even more unfathomable, but not even remotely surprising for Los Angeles residents, is that District Attorney George Gascón refused to charge Lee with a felony.  He kicked the case to the city, where Lee is facing a total of four misdemeanor charges.
