Does this really count as a bad day? Mark Zuckerberg lost $29.7 billion of his net worth and has fallen out of the top 10 on the list of the highest net worth individuals in the world.  Poor Zuck has dipped back all the way to the 13th spot on the list.

On the bright side, for the CEO of Meta, he’s still rich as hell and worth north of $78.2 billion even after losing $47.3 of his net worth recently. New York Mag reports that Meta has lost $500 billion in value since they changed their name from Facebook back in October.

Zuckerberg is a goal-oriented person, no doubt, so here’s who in front of him on the list and what he needs to do to maybe get lucky and penetrate the top-5.

Elon Musk clocks in at number one, with a net worth of $220 billion.

Jeff Bezos is second at $177 billion, followed by Bernard Arnault, third at $160 billion.

Bill Gates is worth $125 billion, good for fourth, and Larry Page, Co-Founder of Google, has $117 billion reasons to be happier the Zuckerberg.

One thing that could move Zuckerberg north on the list is the performance of Reels, which was launched for all users on Tuesday.  TikTok has gotten into the head of Zucerkberg, it seems, but he has big expectations for the potential of Reels.  Here’s what he said on a recent earnings call.

“We face a competitor in TikTok that is a lot bigger, so it will take a while to compound and catch up there. But fundamentally, you know, we think that there’s a lot of potential for it to continue growing.”

It would take a lot more bad months for Zuckerberg to fall off the list entirely.  Tang Xiao’ou, the founder of SenseTime, is number 500, with a net worth of $5.48 billion, according to The Street.
