The restaurant business has changed before our eyes in the past 15 months.

Would you believe that over the past year, 81% of restaurant business was take out or delivery according to Yahoo Finance.

The year before that the digits were reversed – just 18% of business was to go.

So many restaurants are facing the strain of trying to eek out a living as their labor costs go up and shortages strain multiple areas of their business.

Even a behemoth like McDonald’s, who is coming off an amazing fiscal year is hampered by shortages.

Have you been to the Golden Arches lately and noticed you received no napkins?  Or straws?

Their latest issue is a shortage of bags, because of all of the to go orders they are filling.

Fox Business was able to get a quote from McDonald’s about this supply problem for paper bags that is popping up around the country.

“Despite temporary pressures in the industry, the impact to restaurants is minimal.  Based on what we know today, we are confident customers should not see disruption to supply of bags or straws. We will continue to watch closely.

Earlier this summer, fans of Taco Bell noticed many locations were running low or completely out of hot sauce.

There was a ketchup packet shortage that freaked out condiment lovers this past spring.

For people looking for a job, there has never been a better time to apply at a restaurant because not only are hourly wages going way up, there might be a bidding war for your services.
