Leah Remini spent a good portion of her adult life as a Scientologist, and she’s spent the past nine years telling anyone who will listen how much she regrets that.

The former King of Queens star went on Twitter and blasted famed Scientologist Tom Cruise, who is sitting on top of the world as his hugely successful film Top Gun: Maverick continues its march towards $1 billion in box office receipts.

Up until 2013, when she left, Remini and Cruise were both members of the Church of Scientology. Now she’s made it part of her life’s work to warn of what she considers the negative impacts of Scientology.

Remini tweeted a screenshot of a Facebook post from her friend and former Scientologist Claire Headley, which spoke of a “dangerous cult that destroyed my family. Trust me, Tom Cruise knows exactly who he is supporting and the abuses the organization perpetuates.”

Remini echoed her friend’s thoughts and added, “Don’t let the movie star charm fool you.”

Remini and Cruise have a history. Five years ago, she called him “diabolical.” In 2016 she had a series on A&# called “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.”

Kirstie Alley, another Scientologist, came to the church’s defense in 2012, saying, “Probably 90% of the crazy stuff I hear isn’t true. I’ve been a Scientologist for over 30 years. I think a lot of things are sensationalized.”

No word from the camp of Tom Cruise on Remini’s rant.
