LeBron James is almost as powerful (or more) than NBA commissioner Adam Silver, so it’s pretty impressive and newsworthy when a fellow player speaks out against King James.

If there’s anyone with the guts, character, and credibility to do it, it’s Enes Kanter, and he went hard at James over what’s going on in China.

Kanter has been very outspoken for a long time regarding human rights violations in China, liberation for Tibetan people, and the sovereignty of Taiwan. He is incredibly supportive, and he’s claimed he’s paid for it by having his playing time with the Celtics reduced to the point of rarely getting on the floor.

Kanter’s comments towards James were not sugarcoated.  He sent out a tweet that blasted the NBA superstar for being hypocritical in regards to social justice.

Here’s what the tweet said.

“Money over Morals for the “King”  Sad & disgusting how these athletes pretend they care about social justice

They really do “shut up & dribble” when Big Boss  says so

Did you educate yourself about the slave labor that made your shoes or is that not part of your research?”

Essentially, Kanter calls James a hypocrite because he is so outspoken on social justice. Still, Kanter feels James ignores the Chinese issues because the Chinese government has so many business tentacles attached to the NBA.

The best part of the story is that James and the Lakers play in Boston against Kanter and the Celtics Friday night. To see the tension between those two players will make it worth tuning in.
