There was a time, not long ago, where NFL quarterbacks would show appreciation to their offensive line teammates around the holidays by buying them some Omaha Steaks.  Or for a rich and successful QB who could afford more, maybe a new watch.

Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals takes his gift-giving very seriously this year, as he hooked up the big fellas assigned to protect him with a golf-themed prize package this year that, according to golf.com, included:

  • A full custom golf club fitting session at True Spec Golf in Scottsdale, Ariz.;
  • ultra-custom Vessel staff bags;
  • True Spec Golf hat;
  • Black Quail shirt;
  • Custom-made bottle of Cincoro Tequila;
  • a $4,000 budget to purchase the clubs each lineman got fit into

After all that, the least those big linemen could do is make sure Murray isn’t sacked the rest of this season. Needless to say, his blockers loved the gift.  Here’s what D.J. Humphries told golf.com

“I’ve never seen a golf bag like this before. It’s in [Murray’s] fashion, though. He’s a pretty swaggy guy, so us getting bags like this, that’s in true fashion. He always takes care of us, but definitely at Christmas time… I posted an Instagram and already have DMs from other offensive linemen in the league jealous of our Christmas gift.”

Give New England QB Mac Jones the award for the most unique and modern gift this year, however. The rookie gave every one of his offensive linemen Bitcoin for a present.

How much? That is unknown, but the kid from Alabama told Bitcoin Magazine he’s been interested in crypto for a while, and this seemed like the right thing to do.

“I’ve been studying Bitcoin for a while now, This year, I just knew I had to give some Bitcoin to my teammates, so I reached out to Bitcoin Magazine and asked for help on how to give Bitcoin as a gift.”

As of Monday, one Bitcoin was worth $51,500.  The number Jones is concerned with is the number of times he’s been sacked, which is a pretty low 25 for the year, so you can see why he took care of his protectors.
