While Russia is still destroying parts of Ukraine with their un-ending siege, plans are in place for Ukraine to launch an NFT museum, with the sole purpose being to “preserve the statehood and history of Ukraine.”  That’s what the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation said.

It will be called “Meta History: Museum of War.  It will include what’s called a “warline,” described by officials as a timeline of events that will have a corresponding NFT.

Those NFTs will be an individual tweet that refers to a significant moment in the war.  Illustrations by Ukrainian artists will accompany it.

According to the Twitter account for the Ukrainian Deputy Minister, the reason they are launching this NFT project is to fight against Russia’s propaganda – and they can assure this by leveraging the blockchain, which is a permanent ledger.

Here’s a tweet from the Digital Transformation office.

“Disinformation is used by Russia on a par with deadly military weapons in Ukraine. The NFT museum is based on a deep intention to keep the memory of real wartime events via blockchain and raise charitable donations to support Ukraine,”

Only the first three days of war have been documented this way, and those NFTs will go on sale starting Wednesday.  It looks like the price is roughly $475.

One example of what’s being made available is a tweet from NATO that called on Russia to stop their invasion on Day 3 of the war at 4:40 pm in Ukraine.  An illustration by artist Alina Kropachova of a compass with a bullhorn is attached to it.
