Jim “Mattress Mack” is by far the most famous furniture salesman in the world.

He’s made a name for himself in several ways during his colorful life.  He built a very successful furniture store business in Houston called Gallery Furniture. You may remember seeing him on Good Morning America or the Today Show when major hurricanes him the Gulf region because he generally opens his stores for people displaced from their homes because of flooding.

He’s also branded himself as one of the biggest sports gamblers in the country, and he has outdone himself with his latest Super Bowl bet.

Mack drove from his home in Texas to Louisiana on January 28 to place the larger mobile wager in history. Mack bet $4,534,00 on the Bengals (+170) over the LA Rams in Sunday’s game.

You don’t have to be a math whiz to figure out what he can lose if things don’t go well, but let me help you with what he would win; $7,707,800.  That’s what’s on the line for this brave bettor.

Here’s what Ken Fuchs of Cedars Entertainment told Fox Business.

“At Caesars Sportsbook, we love taking epic wagers on massive events like the Super Bowl. The Joe Burrow magic is pulling fans in, especially in Louisiana with his college roots. With this $4.5 million bet on Joe and the Bengals, Mack will make history again. And with the millions of Caesars Rewards credits, he’ll earn — win or lose — he can enjoy time spent on OUR mattresses at Caesars anytime he wants to stop by.”

You have to love Mack’s reason for placing the record-setting bet at Caesars, telling Fox they were  “the only one with big enough britches to take that kind of bet at a single time.”

A poll by Morning Consult says 25% of American adults plan on betting money on the Super Bowl. They estimate that the sports betting market could be as high as $17.7 billion by 2025.

By the way, Mack owns the record for the biggest sports betting win. He brought home over $3 million last year when Tampa Bay beat Kansas City in the Super Bowl.
