It’s the year of reboots and prequels for iconic HBO shows. Two weeks ago the stars of Sex and the City talked about the relaunch of their series, with shooting set to begin in the spring.  The creator of Entourage, Doug Ellin, has been hinting on his “Victory” podcast that there might be something brewing down the road that reunited Vinny Chase and his crew.

And there’s one more beloved HBO original that just released the trailer for their prequel. The Sopranos prequel called “The Many Saints of Newark” will showcase a young Tony Soprano, played by the son of the late James Gandolfini.  Fans of The Sopranos got their first look at Michael Gandolfini in the trailer, and the resemblances are evident.

David Chase, the creator of the serious told Cigar Aficionado that it was an easy choice casting Michael for this role. “It wasn’t a tough decision. I saw him do it and that was it.”

The elder Gandolfini tragically died in 2013. “I’ve known Michael since he was a baby. He’s hugely talented, like his dad. But those are big shoes to fill,” said Terrance winter, a writer who wrote several episodes of The Sopranos.
