The late Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna have left so many lasting legacies since their tragic deaths in January, including the fact that people around the world are naming their children after them. The top five most popular names for boys in 2020 are Liam, Noah, Jackson, Aiden and Elijah.

Gianna’s name was also a fast riser this year, as she bumped into the worldwide top 100 in most popular names, currently at No. 24 on the list, which is a jump of 52 spots on the list. Her jump was at a clip of 216% over last year. The top five most popular names for girls in 2020 are Sophia at number 1No. 1, followed by Olivia, Riley, Emma and Ava.

One of Bryant’s former teammates and a close friend, Pau Gasol, wanted to honor the Bryants and have their name live on in his family. He and his wife Cat named their newborn daughter Elisabet Gianna, after Gianna Bryant.

The BabyCenter produced this data, which is based on their rankings from 520,000 BabyCenter parents who submitted baby names.
