The fastest-growing boy’s name for 2020 is Kobe, which is at No. 216 on the world list, up 379 spots from a year ago. That is a 175% boost in popularity. The top five most popular names for boys in 2020 are Liam, Noah, Jackson, Aiden and Elijah.

Gianna’s name was also a fast riser this year, as she bumped into the worldwide top 100 in most popular names, currently at No. 24 on the list, which is a jump of 52 spots on the list. Her jump was at a clip of 216% over last year. The top five most popular names for girls in 2020 are Sophia at number 1No. 1, followed by Olivia, Riley, Emma and Ava.

One of Bryant’s former teammates and a close friend, Pau Gasol, wanted to honor the Bryants and have their name live on in his family. He and his wife Cat named their newborn daughter Elisabet Gianna, after Gianna Bryant.
