One problem with being world famous as a star of a hit TV show is you can become a target for fraudsters and criminals.

That’s the situation Shark Tank star Kevin (Mr. Wonderful) O’Leary says he’s in, after 20 entrepreneurs around the country filed a lawsuit that claims O’Leary and former Shark Kevin Harrington scammed the 20 plaintiffs by allegedly using”fictional executives, false promises of financial success, and even illusions of being on the show ‘Shark Tank’ itself.”

Entertainment Tonight first reported the details and obtained a copy of the lawsuit.

According to the court docs, ET reported these 20 entrepreneurs accuse the two Kevins of running a “predatory fraud scheme to induce investors and entrepreneurs to hire one of two companies, InventureX or Ideazon.”

Apparently the plaintiffs were guaranteed help from O’Leary and Harrington to initiate crowd funding to start their businesses if they would invest in the InventureX or Ideazon.  According to the suit, Harrington was the primary executive and O’Leary allegedly endorsed the the two companies.

So what is Mr. Wonderful saying about it?   Fox Business talked to O’Leary, and he had no idea about the two companies he is accused of having ties to.

“It appears that someone has been using my name and likeness without my knowledge, permission, or consent.  I’ve never heard of any of these purported companies and have never conducted business with any of the plaintiffs who filed this suit. Obviously, I want to get to the bottom of it too, as my rights have been violated. We will make sure that the bad actors are held accountable.”
