It’s cool when an NFL coach makes headlines and gets a lot of media attention,,, for winning football games.

When a coach is talked about nonstop because he was caught partying with a bunch of women who he wasn’t married to, it’s going to get the attention of his billionaire owner.  Especially when that coach is winless.

Welcome to Urban Meyer’s world. After multiple videos and photos came out that showed Meyer at the bar he owns in Columbus, Ohio, Shad Khan, the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars ripped the coach for acting like a complete tool.

Now keep in mind, the team played at Cincinnati on Thursday Night Football. Instead of flying back to Florida with his team, Meyer stayed in Ohio so he could “visit his grandkids.”

The incident that ticked his owner off happened on Friday night. Here’s part of Khan’s statement.

“I have addressed this matter with Urban. Specifics of our conversation will be held in confidence. What I will say is his conduct last weekend was inexcusable.

“I appreciate Urban’s remorse, which I believe is sincere. Now, he must regain our trust and respect. That will require a personal commitment from Urban to everyone who supports, represents or plays for our team. I am confident he will deliver.”

Meyer ran to the podium on Monday to apologize for his behavior. He said he has to “own it,” meaning take the heat for his actions because he preaches the same thing to his team.

Meyer happens to be good at apologies, because he’s had to do them a few times in his career.
