Thirty-one stories tall and with plenty of stories to tell, the Sierra Towers in Los Angeles, California, has housed some of the biggest celebrities over the years and now is the focus of a strange and grisly death.

Reports out of Los Angeles say that a prospective buyer was viewing a multimillion-dollar apartment on one of the highest floors in the 31-story building when he suddenly climbed over a wall on the balcony and eventually jumped to his death. According to a report by Toofab, the real estate agent showing the apartment apparently had his back turned as the 75-year-0ld victim climbed over the wall. The Realtor then reportedly tried to talk the man down while calling for security. Soon after security personnel entered the room, the man jumped.

The report by Toofab also said that L.A. County Sheriff homicide detective Steve Blagg said the death was definitely a suicide and that the victim had left a note at his home, which was just a few miles away.

Over the years the building has housed some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Cher, Sandra Bullock, Elton John, Britney Spears and Joan Collins.

Apartments in the building, which is located between West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, have gone for as much as a mind-blowing $2,000 per square foot.

The sale of the apartment is being handled by the real estate firm of Paris Hilton’s dad Rick Hilton. He was reportedly not present during the incident.

Courteney Cox recently sold her 1,315-square-foot apartment in the Sierra Towers for $2.9 million.
