Here’s a bizarre story of corporate loyalty gone very bad.  David Harville, eBay’s former director of global resilience, just pled guilty to five felony counts in a harassment case that will likely lead to some prison time. Harville was one of seven former eBay employees whom the Department of Justice charged with being part of a harassment campaign against Ina and David Steiner, who run a newsletter called EcommerceBytes.

The Steiners had published a negative story about eBay, and that’s when the group of seven got creative with a harassment campaign meant to intimidate the Steiners. Not only did they go after the couple on Twitter and doxed their home address online, but these weirdos went even further, mailing items to their home that they hoped would freak them out.

Harville admitted to mailing them live cockroaches, spiders, and even a bloody pig face mask.

The details in the original charging filing make Harville out to be a grade-A creep.

He allegedly flew from Northern Cal to Boston in order to drive to the Steiner’s house, breaking into their garage and putting a GPS tracking device on their vehicle.

One of the seven in the group named James Baugh pleaded guilty back in April, and he’s facing up to 20 years in prison. Four of the others pled guilty two years ago, and one of them is now serving an 18-month prison sentence.
