After three years of dating and having one child together, Canadian electronic artist Grimes and Elon Musk announced they were moving on last week. He was too busy, she was always in Los Angeles. It just wasn’t ideal to try to keep the relationship going.
While Musk will continue running Tesla, SpaceX, his solar and satellite high-speed internet companies and of course sending out biting and thought-provoking tweets, Grimes let her fans in on some of her future plans, sans Musk.
According to the New York Post, this is what she told them.
“I’ll be colonizing Europa separately from Elon for the lesbian space commune,” she wrote in an email to Page Six.
Is Grimes serious? Just really weird? Or making a tongue-in-cheek response and trying to be funny? Who knows, maybe a little bit of all there. By the way, in case you are wondering about Europa, it is one of Jupiter’s ice-crusted moons. Musk and SpaceX received a $178 million contract with NASA to try to reach it via rocket ship to see if it could be inhabitable.
If it is, then Musk only has to talk to the mother of his youngest child about being one of the first visitors and possibly residents of Europa.
