Memo to whoever buys the house at 58 Bahama Circle in Tampa, Florida.

You’ve got some big shoes to fill!  But the good news is there’s a closet in the master bedroom that’s bigger than the average size of a house in 13 states.

The House that Derek Jeter built, and Tom Brady and Giselle lived in, just sold to a non-sports living legend.  Here’s what he paid, and what he’ll get with his new crib…

Do you think Derek Jeter had to do a credit and reference check on the renter of his 22,000 square foot mega-mansion?

The combined net worth of Tom Brady and his supermodel wife Giselle is north of $800 million, so not only could Tom afford the rent when he moved in a year ago after he joined the Tampa Bay Bucs, he could buy the Tampa Bay Lightning NHL team by simply writing a check to the current owners.

Brady moved out this spring, and Jeter decided that the house could never get more famous than it is now, so he put it on the market.  It sold for $22.5 million, making it the most expensive home sale in the history of the Tampa area.

Just another all-time record for Brady and Jeter.

When Brady moved into the house, he knew it would be temporary, and confirmed that when he appeared on the Howard Stern Show.

“I’m going to stay here for a while. I had to find a place on really short notice and he’s been a friend of mine. We just talked and it all worked out. Derek did a pretty good job screening it. I’m a bit of an introvert. I feel like my house is a place where I can relax. When you walk outside the house, you understand everything that comes with being me. When I come home I want to let my guard down and relax but this is different because when you go out to the backdoor there’s a lot of boats that pull up and people out in front. He left it furnished for me so it’s been great. He’s got great taste.”

The home is, was, and forever will be spectacular. It sits on a 1.25-acre estate, and to ensure the ultimate amount of privacy Jeter also purchased the three adjacent lots to it. All in, Jeter spent $7.7 million on the three lots.

Then he went to work and started construction on the mansion. It took four years.

Stephen Gay is the listing agent for Smith & Associates.  He said the new owner bought themselves a treasure.

“The attention to detail, the quality of the finishes, the materials used in the construction are just exceptional. Really, no expense was spared in building this home.”

It has seven bedrooms and 16 bathrooms. The outdoor area resembles a 5-star resort, with 9,000 square fee of covered porches and balconies, a dock with two lifts, and a saltwater lap pool and heated spa.

The two story main house features a total of seven bedrooms and eight full bathrooms.  It was built from hand-carved, gray Connecticut granite and limestone.

It features 24-foot-high ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows that open up to a phenomenal view across Tampa’s Hillsborough Bay.

It would be the ultimate place to celebrate a Super Bowl win, and chances are Brady grabbed a bottle of tequila he got famously drunk on at the championship parade from the full-service bar in the house.

Giselle must have whipped up dozens of fabulous meals for her hubby in the gourmet kitchen while they lived there, taking into account her superstar QB husband’s specific diet of avocado and eggs for breakfast; salads with nuts and fish for his lunch: hummus, guacamole, or mixed nuts for snacks; and roasted vegetables and chicken when he returned home from practice.

Not only was it the most expensive house in Tampa, it is the larges house in South Tampa, sitting on the larges lot on Davis Islands.

Jeter capitalized on a red hot housing market in Tampa, St. Pete and Clearwater, where home prices have increased almost 30% in the past year.

Good luck living up to the legendary status of the previous two occupants new owners!
