Several Democrats lawmakers are taking offense to President Donald Trump’s tweets and are now calling on Twitter to suspend his account until all ballots have been counted.

Following Election Day, Trump tweeted, “Last night I was leading, often solidly, in many key States, in almost all instances Democrat run & controlled. Then, one by one, they started to magically disappear as surprise ballot dumps were counted. VERY STRANGE, and the “pollsters” got it completely & historically wrong.” That Tweet from Trump prompted Rep. Gerry Connolly to tweet out, “Suspend his account, @Twitter. This is pure disinformation. Valid votes are being counted. This is America, not Russia.”

Rep. David Cicilline of Rhode Island also chimed in, “Right now, the President’s Twitter account is posting lies and misinformation at a breathtaking clip. It is a threat to our democracy and should be suspended until all the votes are counted.”

Despite the pleas from the left, Twitter has not suspended the president’s account but they are flagging some of the presidents tweets with, “Official sources may not have called the race when this was tweeted.” Almost half of the president’s 14 tweets on Wednesday had been labeled or hidden.

The hidden tweets are being blocked by a window, which reads, “Some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process,” along with a clickable link to “learn more.” To the right of that link ,you can click a “View” button to see the original tweet.

On Thursday morning, a tweet from the president saying, “ANY VOTE THAT CAME IN AFTER ELECTION DAY WILL NOT BE COUNTED!” was hidden behind the “disputed and misleading” window.
