78 days ago Caitlyn Jenner announced she was officially running to try and book Gavin Newsom out of the Governor’s chair in the California recall election.

That’s really the last time anyone heard from her, until Friday, when she held her first press conference since the big announcement and had a pretty direct answer when she was asked by a reporter if she was looking for an endorsement from former President Donald Trump.

“No,” she said, leaving little to the imagination.

Then she offered a little bit more insight as to why one reality television star is turning down potential help from another reality TV star.

“I am a private citizen of the state of California, I have every right in the world to be able to run for this office and I am on the Republican side, obviously I’m on the Republican side.  But don’t put me in this box, like if you’re in this box of ‘you’re a Republican, you have to think this way.’”

Here’s another reason she may have turned him down before he even offered to endorse here. She had denounced Trump before over his stand on LGBTA issues, according to the Associated Press.

Jenner said she didn’t vote in the 2020 Presidential election because she was playing golf. She did support Trump in 2016, and now a handful of Trump’s former political strategy team work for her campaign.

Jenner also assured reporters that she was leading the pack of challengers to dethrone Newsom.

We’ll find out in the middle of September just how much support she has and how badly Californians want to send Newsom packing.
