This was not your run-of-the-mill bus vs. train incident. It was a situation that developed between a Joe Biden-Kamala Harris campaign bus and a group of “Trump Train” vehicles of President Trump backers.

It happened on a Texas highway Friday as the Biden bus headed toward Austin, and the fault may lie in the eye of the beholder.

The FBI has acknowledged that federal authorities are reviewing the incident during which a Trump caravan vehicles gathered around a Biden bus. According to a USA Today story, the FBI Monday declined to elaborate on the investigation. Neither Biden nor Harris was on board. No one was injured.

A Texas TV station reported that the Biden-Harris vehicle might have been at fault. The San Marcos Police Department (SMPD) reviewed internet videos and said “the ‘at-fault vehicle’ may be the Biden-Harris staffer’s car, while the ‘victim’ appears to be one of the Trump vehicles,” KXAN News reported. “Since SMPD has not spoken to either driver at this time, additional investigation would be required to fully ascertain who was at fault,” the department added.

The Texas Tribune reported the FBI involvement. “The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking into a Friday incident in which a group of Trump supporters, driving trucks and waving Trump flags, surrounded and followed a Biden campaign bus as it drove up I-35 in Hays County, a law enforcement official confirmed to The Texas Tribune Saturday,” reported the paper.

President Trump responded to the investigation by defending his supporters as “patriots” and slamming the FBI for ignoring violence from left-wing protesters.

“In my opinion, these patriots did nothing wrong,” he wrote. “Instead, the FBI and Justice should be investigating the terrorists, anarchist, and agitators of ANTIFA, who run around burning down our Democrat-run cities and hurting our people!”
