The instability of the cryptocurrency market is on constant display, as a single tweet or cryptic message continues to move the price up and down.
On Tuesday it wasn’t the fingers of Elon Musk that moved bitcoin’s value up 14%, it was a job posting that pushed bitcoin to a six week high.
Amazon listed a job opening for a position that would lead their digital currency and blockchain product team, and boy did the crypto market freak out.
Bitcoin rose all the way to $39,043. Ethereum climbed to $2,363. Dogecoin’s ,market cap hit $28.8 billion thanks to the job posting.
The job was posted on Thursday, and the posting said the company was looking for someone with a deep understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem and related technologies.
The position would reportedly fall under their payment acceptance and experience team, so it’s safe to assume that Amazon will be accepting cryptocurrency payments sometime soon.
Requirements include 10+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing and business development or technology.
There are about 15 other things they listed they want out of whoever gets this job in eluding the willingness to pull up sleeves to achieve goals.
