Dr. Anthony Fauci loves the spotlight and being the center of attention, and he’s getting plenty of it now.

Republicans are leading the charge in Washington, demanding to find out the origin of the coronavirus and claiming that at this point it’s pretty obvious the virus originated in a lab, and not from an animal host that transmitted it to humans.

Wednesday the 80-year old Fauci had to go to the political equivalent of the principal’s office, testifying before a Congressional committee to discus the virus, and he was asked yet again about the $600,00 grant a Wuhan lab was given by the U.S Government.

Lousiana Senator John Kennedy pressed Fauci and asked him if the Chinese scientists could have carried out secret experiments with some of that American cash and then not reported the results, as they were supposed to do.

Fauci said there were no guarantees the Chinese didn’t do that.

Rand Paul took it a step further, accusing Fauci of committing perjury, and Paul said Fauci should be fired from his high-paying job for lying to the American people about giving funding to the Wuhan Virology Institute.

Paul is far from being alone in feeling Fauci needs at the very least to be fired for his constant flip flopping on the origin of COVID.

Republican Representative Warren Davidson of Ohio proposed the “FIRED ACT.” It’s an acronym that stands for “Fauci Incompetence Requires Early Dismissal.”

Not especially clever, but it sums up the sentiment in Washington that the honeymoon is over for Fauci, the highest-paid U.S. Government employee who many politicians are convinced at the very least has a lot more explaining to do.
