The reminders keep coming that we have presidential candidates who are older than former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

Speaking of Bush, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden appeared that he might have been thinking of him during a “I Will Vote” virtual celebrity concert fundraiser on Sunday.

“The character of the country, in my view, is literally on the ballot,” Biden said. “What kind of country are we going to be? Four more years of George, uh, George, uh, we’re gonna find ourselves in a position that, if Trump gets elected, we’re going to be in a different world.”

Mind you, one of the event’s moderators was George Lopez, the comedian. But it was enough of a window for Trump to put the 13-second clip on his YouTube page for 1.6 million views.

That prompted a “News Now” video compilation of Trump getting names wrong to recirculate and reach 3.6 million views on Twitter. It was two days after Trump referred to Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, a staunch Trump supporter, multiple times as Rick Gates, a former aide who pleaded guilty in relation to the 2016 Russian election interference.

“Joe Biden called me George yesterday,” Trump tweeted. “Couldn’t remember my name. Got some help from the anchor to get him through the interview. The Fake News Cartel is working overtime to cover it up!”

Trump has accused Biden of having dementia, pointing out occasions this month when Biden could not remember Mitt Romney’s name and said he was running for Senate.

“The same guy who thought that the 9/11 attack was a 7-Eleven attack,” Biden said on Sunday’s “60 Minutes” when asked about the accusation. “He’s talking about dementia?”

Now if he meant George H. Bush, that is a whole other thing.
