President Trump, other Republicans, Democrats and even Libertarians were apparently on the list of possible targets for at least one of the men involved in the plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

One of the men implicated, Barry Croft, expressed interest online in hanging politicians, and at one point even posted a picture of President Trump on Facebook saying the president’s “True colors shining through, wanna hang this mf’er too!!!%,” according to an FBI search warrant affidavit obtained by WXYZ-TV in Detroit.

Croft, from Delaware, along with Adam Fox from Michigan, look like the two earliest members of the group that would eventually form and later plot to kidnap Whitmer.

According to the affidavit, Croft would single out politicians in videos he made but would also make general comments, such as “I’m for hanging Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians.” His Facebook posts also called out a mix of politicians as targets that specifically included South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, President Trump, former President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In a May 4 exchange, Croft seemed to communicate his intentions of targeting Republican South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, saying “I’ll die in defense of the constitution and God’s people, I am not passive I will fight, and if necessary die for the same. I have no plans on losing this fight. I’ll be in Columbia, S.C., on Friday. They say they want their Governor in custody. I want to grab them all, and hold trial.”

Croft, who is reported to be a long-haul truck driver, is one of six men currently being charged in federal court.
